Release Therapy was considered by many to be Ludacris' most introspective album to date. As hip-hop frequently came under attack for its vulgarity, Luda briefly stepped away from business-as-usual to reflect on societal ailments ("Runaway Love") and personal responsibility ("Mouths to Feed"). Luda's Pac-like approach impressed Academy Award voters, and he came out tops in a fiercely contested category.
