Someone asked Rick Rubin how we to save the music industry, how to get people buying albums again. Rubin's reply? "Have you thought about making better music?" They looked at him all weird and concluded that he must be smoking some bamma.
That sums up the industry's biggest issue: Find a formula, milk it to death. The old model is broken. The music business is in dire need of change. It'll take a collective effort to steer the game forward, and you can start by educating yourself on the pros and cons of a major deal.
