Beef: Joey Bada$$ vs. Lil B

By January 30, 2013

Follow me on:

This one will probably fizzle out before the week is over, so I'll keep it brief. Remember the Lil B reference on Joey Bada$$' "Survival Tactics": "They say hard work pays off/Well tell the Based God don't quit his day job". Translation: Joey is ready to outwork the hardest working rapper in the game. B perceived that as a slight and fired warning shots at the 17-year-old Joey on a song called "I'm the Bada$$."

Joey promptly fired back on the 90s-flavored, Lee Bannon-produced "Don't Quit Your Day Job."

So, who are you riding with on this one? The Based God or the Bada$$?

Stream both songs on The Rap Up.

The BasedGod does not know what defeat is or how it feels. All he knows is the taste of sweet, sweet victory. Joey Bada$$ is a fool to try and go one on one with the Based One. He must humble himself, and apologize for even trying to retaliate. When the BasedGod mentions you in any of his harmonious ballad , you say, “Thank you, but I am not worthy!” and kiss his all powerful feet.

Great idea from the BasedLord to keep the hype machine going on. Of course Joey is the better rapper but as an artist I take Lil B over him any given day.

Badass is stupid to even respond, Basedgod will destroy him

I mean why did Badass bother doesn’t he realise what Lil B is? Too much of the hip-hop community takes Lil B as another crap rapper, he is so much the opposite of that. He’s pimping the rap game and he’s doing it with great production.

This isn’t even a contest… Joey Bada$$ all day. Lil’ B is barely a rapper, yet someone to be mentioned in the same breath as Joey. Lil B sounds like some douche in high school who gets drunk and parties and thinks he can rap. Pleeeeease.

Joey takes an immediate L for even responding. Lil B is the greatest troll in music and the fact that some people still think he’s genuine is mindblowing.
