The 2009 BET awards are to be hosted by Oscar winning actor and musician Jamie Foxx. Foxx is also nominated for three awards. The ceremony will feature live performances from Beyonce, Ne-Yo, Maxwell, Soulja Boy and Kanye West. The BET awards were established in 2001 as a celebration of African American and other minorities’ contributions in music, acting, sports and entertainment over the past year.
