Lil Wayne has announced that his much anticipated rock album, Rebirth, will arrive on April 7, 2009. Wayne's reps confirmed this release date to MTV News. Rebirth's first single is called "Prom Queen." Despite Wayne's previous statement that he would reissue Tha Carter III under the title Rebirth, his publicists insist that this rock album has no connection whatsoever to Tha Carter series.
If you're a true Weezy fan, get ready to buy a bigger CD wallet. Despite outselling every artist in every genre last year and bagging 8 Grammy nominations this year, Wayne is not resting on his laurels. He has four known projects lined up for 2009: Rebirth, Carter IV, a T-Wayne album (with T-Pain), and I Can't Feel My Face (with Juelz Santana). And that's not counting the bazillion mixtapes that will surely follow.

You have to respect his dedication. I just wish he would focus and make one great album instead of spending all of his energy on a million different pointless projects.

Though I will say I’m liking the direction this rock album is going in…”Prom Queen” itself is ok, but with live beats and stuff like that (Besides auto-tune), Wayne could easily put on one Heck of a show.
1. To Henry, Wayne said he was done with Carter V when he was a guest commentator on ESPN. That’s how I know about it.
2. To the other guys, I agree with you both, but when you’re in the studio as much as he is, you kind of end up doing multiple projects at a time, whether you intend to or otherwise.
Well Wayne cant be considered the best until he puts out a classic or a really good album. Right now hes like a plater without a championship

I agree if lil wayne was 2 focus on only one project instead of a million different mix tapes and collaboration albums he could really come out wit something really really good not saying that his stuff is not good but if he focus all of his time 2 only one album he could maybe make a classic album…still his music is hot n I like da song prom queen its pretty diffrent….
