A shock wave ran through the music world last weekend when Isaac Hayes walked on by into the unknown forever. More than an iconic soul singer, the man nicknamed Black Moses unintentionally laid down the template for many hip-hop and R&B classics throughout his career. In fact, it's safe to say that hip-hop owes Hayes a lifetime worth of royalty checks.
