10 Spookiest Rap Songs Ever

Tuesday October 30, 2007
Not many people realize this, but hip-hop is one heck of a scary art form. And I'm not talking about Suge Knight's 6'4, 300 lbs frame. In fact, Mr. Knight is not even as creepy as the trippy tales and hair-raising moments that encapsulate the songs you're about to experience. Start your Halloween party with these 10 spooky rap songs. You've been warned.

(1) Ivan says:

Great list!

Geto Boys definitely deserves the #1. The torment injected into those lyrics are really deep…

“…..My hands were all bloody, from punchin on the concrete”

October 22, 2007 at 6:47 am
(2) k says:

some of eminem’s sick songs (eg stan, kim) can make this list too i reckon…and maybe cage? And some of nas’s songs such as undying love and i gave you power? Spooooooooooky

October 22, 2007 at 10:05 am
(3) SHZA says:

eminems cleanin out my closet, role model or amittyville deserve a place on the list

October 22, 2007 at 11:29 am
(4) bullish says:

i agree Kim by eminem is some pretty spooky

October 22, 2007 at 1:58 pm
(5) s says:

did y’all forget about “damien” by DMX?!? that song is spooky, nd i would agree with eminem’s “kim” if he just fixed it up a little better and made it a little more spooky, it more of a psychotic song than a spooky one, i think “Bonnie N Clyde’97″ is wayy spookier, it sounds like it’s actually happenin! i agree with “I Gave you power” too but not “undying love”, nd by the way “deja Vu” by killah Priest is kinda spooky, neway i can keep goin on nd on, but neway thanks for a really good list! dance with the devil is the creepiest hands down, i mean crap the guy kills nd rapes his own mother!!!!!!! its f**** creepy as hell!! o ya nd “Quiet Storm” for Mobb Deep is creepy too, newayz here’s my own list

1)Immortal Technique - Dance With The Devil

2)Snoop Dogg - Murder Was The Case

3)Geto Boys - Mind Playin Tricks On Me

4)DJ Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince - Nightmare On My Street

5)Killah Priest - Deja Vu

6)Jay-Z - D’Evils

7)Biggie - Suicidal Thoughts

8)DMX - Damien

9)Eminem - Bonnie “n Clyde ‘97

10)Mobb Deep- Quiet Storm

October 22, 2007 at 4:14 pm
(6) james says:

fresh prince’s nightmare on my street was not spooky, it was funny, and eminem’s kim, bonnie and clyde 97, and amityville should have definitely been on the list, as should “damien, the omen, and damien 3″ all by dmx.

October 22, 2007 at 7:32 pm
(7) Adam says:

Mobb Deep - almost any track from the ‘hell on earth’ LP, standing out is ‘G.O.D pt III’

October 22, 2007 at 8:57 pm
(8) BK says:

all the songs i thought of when i saw you were doing a list like this were on here (murder was the case, d’evils, devils son, dance with the devil and the cool). until i saw some of the songs these dudes above me reminded me of (stan mainly). good idea and songs for the list though

October 22, 2007 at 11:02 pm
(9) Jamal says:

Duel Of The Iron Mic! That sh*ts creepy as hell, i hav that at number 3 behind My Mind’s Playing Tricks On Me and Dance With The Devil. I would also give Nas’ Blunt Ashes from HHID consideration and idk y no one is saying a good amount of Jedi Mind Trick’s songs

October 23, 2007 at 2:32 am
(10) SHZA says:

wow, everyone (including me) forgot about gravediggaz…i think ‘nowhere to run, nowhere to hide’ is on the top 5 part of this list…and down lows ‘johnny b’ aint a joke, also outkasts ‘d.e.e.p.’,'atliens’ or ‘elevators’ could be on this list…thats all from me,peace

October 23, 2007 at 5:25 am
(11) Gill says:

i didnt forget about gravdiggaz, “1-800 Suicide” should def be on it. Other than that n “Stan” i think its a dope list

October 23, 2007 at 8:40 am
(12) Henry says:

“Stan” is a masterpiece, but it wasn’t spooky in a scary sense. Now “Kim” was creepy as hell.

I can’t believe someone mentioned “Elevators.” What’s spooky about “Me and you, your mama and your cousin too, rolling down the strip on vogues, coming up slamming Cadillac doors”?

October 23, 2007 at 8:45 am
(13) Shiban says:

yeah.. lol, the guy probably only thinks about beats when he thinks of spooky (no pun intended)

October 23, 2007 at 12:09 pm
(14) BK says:

i dont know em talking about how he cut himself and then the last part where he went driving was crazy

October 23, 2007 at 8:10 pm
(15) 6th Sense says:

“D’evils” is one of my all-time favorite Jay songs. The metaphors and the lyrics in general are deep and crazy. But spooky? Nothing really spooky about it. The hook wasn’t either.

Where the Doom’s “Tick…Tick”, just the instrumental of that song is creepy. And added up with MF’s creepy lyrics with innovative tempo changing. One of the darkest sounding rap songs ever.

October 24, 2007 at 12:50 pm

Are you kidding me? Where is Three 6 Mafia? Their early stuff sends chills down my spine listening to it during the day.
Here’s a real Halloween Top 10:

1. Damn I’m Crazed - Lord Infamous
2. Crucifix - Koopsta Knicca
3. Now I’m High Pt. 3 - Three 6 Mafia
4. Scarecrow Melody - Lord Infamous
5. F*ckin Wit Dis Click - Three 6 Mafia
6. Live By Yo Rep - Three 6 Mafia
7. The Serial Killaz - DJ Paul/Scarecrow
8. Mystic Stylez - Three 6 Mafia
9. Torture Chamber - Koopsta Knicca
10. Lay It Down - Kingpin Skinny Pimp

Check out Three 6’s “Mystic Stylez”, Koopsta Knicca’s “Da Devil’s Playground”, or the DJ Paul/Lord Infamous mixtape “Serial Killaz” for somethin really scary. Any early 90’s Triple 6 would work. F*ck Eminem and Jay, they got nothin on this stuff.

October 27, 2007 at 3:53 pm
(23) Shiban says:

theres worse than 50 cent… i mean i think he has a lootttt of worst songs, but common you guys hate on him tooooo much, i mean i only have a few songs for him, 4 to be exact, but really is his worst song badder than “Crank That Soulja Boy” , or “It’s Goin Down”, or other wacker sh** like tht, no, i mean he has made some of the worst songs ever, and i think ALL of his albums suck, so don’t get me wrong, but u guys hate on the guy too mcuh, i mean way too much…lol, neway plzzzz make a worst songs list, plz

(31) The Chosen One says:

OK people, there’s seem to be a misunderstanding of this topic. It’s not about the sound of the beat, it’s about the lyrics, the message of the song that’s spooky. So Three Six Mafia should not be on list.

November 9, 2007 at 2:48 pm
(32) Kristel says:

I would think that Bone Thugs would be in there somewheres considering they make referrals to Ouija boards, demons and such?…

November 14, 2007 at 9:32 pm
(33) p quest says:

The chosen one is the wrong one, you don’t even know what you are talkiing about???? I’ve posted comments and they haven’t been shown, I don’t know why.

I was going to say that for me, Kool Keith’s work is some of the most disturbing, spooky stuff. It’s psychological horror.

Some spooky and disturbing songs that I can think of right now are
“White Slavery” by Necro “Body Bag” and “Waiting list” by kool keith
also “Six Feet Deep” and “Diary of a Madman” by The Gravediggaz. those are some really screwy songs.
