CD Review: Common's Finding Forever

Tuesday July 31, 2007
A couple years ago, Common went into the sound lab with Kanye West and re-emerged with a 12-song LP titled Be. Critics quickly dubbed it a classic. Consumers dashed to the stores and bought ten copies each. It appeared on hundreds of end-of-year lists. In retrospect, Be was truly a welcome departure from the influx of faux-thuggery, but it was grievously overrated.

Common is now back on the saddle with another 12-track album, Finding Forever, also helmed by Kanye. But how does it stack up against his previous albums? We have the final word on Finding Forever.

This album is on point, I wish he made more songs for the album but still a great one. Better than Be.

Yo Nemesis, what about Wu?

Wu-Tang will probably be bought. I don’t know if it will come out this or next year. NY hip-hop is the best. Oh, does anyone know when AZ’s new album coming out?

Oh, Detox is Dre’s new album. That’s why I never heard of it. I don’t pay attention to West Coast rap.

James, is that Eminem’s next official? Do you have a link or something? I believe you I just want to read about it lol. If he has that title though of the album he better bring it like he used to, which I have confidence he will.

Great review, you certainly have your finger on the pulse of what Common fans really want.Finding Forever is a must have. His development over the years is obvious, yet he still stays true to his concious roots. This is not for the immature………..This is real Hip Hop.
