50 Best Summer Rap Songs (1996 - 2006)

Friday July 7, 2006
This is where the 'job' in 'fun job' becomes a bit more pronounced. Picking 50 best summer rap songs from the last 10 years is no cool water, folks. But, neither is summer. One of the things that makes the period between Memorial Day and Labor Day so exciting (besides the boiling weather and chicks in bikinis) is the peculiar summer music that tags along. Whether you're stuck in traffic on a sweltering weekday, entertaining friends with your grill skills (we're only assuming here), or skinny dipping at a pool party, you'll surely find a fun soundtrack in one of these 50 Summer Rap Songs.

Hi

I’m Kool Steev from and I agree with you Henry, there are some real banging songs that come out in the summer. And my personal all time favorite would have to be “Sumertime” by DJ Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince.

The summer would just not be the same unless I hear that song play on the radio at least once during the long hot summer season.

Peace out!

No doubt, Steev. “Summertime” has to be one of the greatest summer rap song of all time. It would have made the list if it had been released several years later.

It’s pretty funny that you can tell how music has changed just by looking at that list. I mean we go from Nas classics to what i must say are some pretty crappy 2006 songs. I want da old school back!
