2006 BET Awards Coverage: Nominees & Photos

Tuesday June 27, 2006
It's goin' doowwwn like Yung Joc. The annual BET Awards--the biggest of its kind that strives to celebrate the accomplishments of black entertainers--will be broadcast live tonight at 7 p.m. (CT), 8 p.m. (ET). Our R & B guide, Mark Nero, is there live capturing all the details and images from the event (that's if he's not too busy being distracted by the slew of media events and after parties). Here are some great links to guide you through the ceremony: I'll update the list to reflect this year's winners as soon they're announced. I'm almost certain that both Kanye West and 50 Cent will clinch some awards tonight. What are your own predictions?

If Gold Digga doesn’t win, I would be shocked. I think Missy should win best female, but that’s because she’s my favorite – I bet Trina will win that. As for best actor, I think it would be awesome if Luda won.

My one question is why isn’t Damien Marley on there for his collaboration with Nas? Or is that not mentioned because it’s a newer albulm?

Sue, I love that Damien Marley/Nas collab “Road to Zion.” But I guess it’s a little too under the radar or something. I would have nominated it if it were up to me.

i think that beyonce should have not won so many awards because she did not deserve them because when there was destiny child she always wanted to be in the spotlight.
