David Banner and Al Sharpton's camp have been engaging in a flame-throwing match for the past week or so. Banner blasted Sharpton for proposing a ban on the N-word.

8. Termanology - "So Amazing"

Termanology gained nationwide prominence in 2006 with the DJ Premier-produced street anthem "Watch How it Go Down." Since then, he's been torching the underground scene with mixtapes. His latest offering, Hood Politics V, dropped last week.

7. Saigon - "C'mon Baby"

If you've been looking forward to Saigon's Atlantic debut, The Greatest Story Never Told, Saigiddy wants you to know that the album is on its way. I must say, though, it's been so long in the making it should be re-christened The Greatest Album Never Released.

6. 50 Cent ft. Ludacris - "I Get Money (Remix)"

Ludacris adds his take to 50's frenetic club smash. "Let's get one thing clear: the South's still here/Still got the Grammy for Album of the Year," boasts the DTP CEO.

5. Wyclef ft. Niia Bertino, Akon & Lil Wayne - "Sweetest Girl"

Thousands of fans were enraged by Wyclef's failure to perform at a scheduled festival in Canada. For some inexplicable reason Clef left concertgoers hanging at the Global Hip-Hop Festival held in Toronto.

4. Prodigy - "I Know"

What could be more admirable than Prodigy rapping about his fall from grace and namedropping Jay-Z and Nas, two rappers he's bumped heads with in the past?

3. Blitz the Ambassador - "Hands of Time"

Tired of the same ol' same ol'? Don't worry, Blitz the Ambassador is here with some goodwill message. Do yourself a favor and stream 4 songs from Blitz's forthcoming CD, Suicide Stereotype, at reverbnation.com

2. Kanye West - "Stronger"

Though "Stronger" has finally dropped to the runner-up position on our chart, it's the strongest song in the U.K this week. On a related note, Kanye dedicated an entire song titled "Big Brother" to Jay-Z on Graduation.

1. Chamillionaire ft. Slick Rick - "Hip-Hop Police"

© Universal Motown
"Hip-Hop Police," the JR Rotem-laced lead cut from Ultimate Victory, has earned Chamillionaire his first No.1 spot on our weekly chart. The song addresses the scrutiny that rappers have been receiving from critics, who continually seek to police hip-hop and point fingers at the art form instead of attacking deep-rooted social issues.
