This week's best rap songs include entries from Young Jeezy, T.I., Snoop Dogg, and The Roots.
10. Young Jeezy - "Put On" (Feat. Kanye West)
Jeezy and Yeezy surprisingly manage to fit both their egos on one track.
9. Snoop Dogg - "Neva Have 2 Worry"
Snoop drops knowledge and recites personal ups and downs on this gem from Ego Trippin'.
8. Skyzoo - "The Necesary Evils"
A midtempo feel-good track from one of hip-hop's brightest newcomers.
7. The Roots - "Rising Up" (Feat. Wale & Chrisette Michelle)
This celebratory posse cut presents a rare moment of elation on the otherwise dark Rising Down.
6. Busta Rhymes - "Don't Touch Me"
Taken from Busta Rhymes' I'm Blessed LP, "Don't Touch Me" hardly deviates from the formula for success: hard-hitting, catchy, and absolutely swaggerlicious.
5. Lupe Fiasco - "Hip-Hop Saved My Life" (feat. Nikki Jean)
As soon as you see the Dr. Teeth-directed video, you'll know this one is special. Lupe weaves an intriguing story about a struggling rapper.
4. T.I. - "No Matter What"
"I'll weather whatever storm, make it out without a bruise," declares T.I. on "No Matter What." Armed with a synth-heavy banger, he shows strength in the midst of difficulties. Pretty much everything you could ask for from a king at this point.
3. The Roots - "Get Busy" (Feat. Jazzy Jeff and Peedi)
Our former chart-topper "Get Busy" features a who's who in Philly hip-hop. Only thing missing is a cameo from Beanie Sigel.
2. The Game - "Big Dreams"
Just as "Big Dreams" was burning up the charts and radio, Game went ahead and shot a video for his other single, "Pain," a collaboration with R&B songstress Keyshia Cole.
1. Buckshot & 9th Wonder - "Hold It Down" (Feat. Talib Kweli )
Still holding down the top spot is this standout cut from The Formula.
