The Bottom Line
Straight from Atlanta, home to revered hip-hop artists like Outkast and T.I., comes this humdrum rap tune.
- A safe alternative to sleeping pills
- Corny rhymes
- Banal production
Description
- "It's Goin' Down" is the first single from Yung Joc's debut album New Joc City
- The song was produced by Nitti
- Along with "Goin' Down" comes a dance style known as "Joc-in"
Guide Review - Yung Joc - It's Goin' Down (Bad Boy/Atlantic)
Yung Joc's cheesy raps coupled with the formulaic production ensures that "It's Goin' Down" will go anywhere but up. It lacks the funky bounce of "The Mighty O" or the dramatic grip of "What You Know." In fact, Nitti's implied kicks and spaced out snares gives "Goin' Down" a sonic resemblance with "Laffy Taffy." This is more likely to put you to sleep than make you get up and do the "Joc".
