If you're a fan of spirituality, supergroups, and beatstrumentals, June is your month. Dive in for this month's best new hip-hop albums.

10. The White Mandingos - 'The Ghetto Is Tryna Kill Me'

Who are these guys? There are three of them? The White Mandingos = L.A. rapper Murs, legendary Bad Brains bassist Darryl Jenifer, and ego trip boss Sacha Jenkins SHR. The chief narrator is Tyrone White (Murs). For a solid sample, peep "Warn a Brotha" which finds Tyrone hilariously tackling rock star ambitions.

9. Evidence - 'Green Tape Instrumentals'

California producer/rapper Evidence is famous for his Island Time raps, not known well enough for his production. Ev tries to fix that by flexing his production skills over 20 tracks of thick drums and sample chops. Thorough enjoyable.

8. Statik Selektah - 'Extended Play'

Statik Selektah has always been adept at matching the right rappers with the right tracks. 6. Prodigy & Alchemist - Albert Einstein

Last time Bandana P and Alchemist got together, magic happened. I once said of the duo's 2007 outing, Return of the Mac: "Al and P truly complement each other's style in a ying and yang manner." Albert Einstein further solidifies that chemistry. Don't make us wait another 6 years, fellas.
Release Date: June 18, 2013

5. Joey Bada$$ - 'Summer Knights'

The year's No. 1 draft pick has been relatively quiet. Then, out of nowhere, the 18-year-old Brooklynite strikes like dynamite. First comes "Word is Bond," followed by his mixtape Summer Knights (nice play on words there, young star). Consider this the appetizer to Joey's debut, B4DA$$, out sometime this year. Catch him on the road at Rock the Bells, Roots Picnic, and Bumbershoot.

4. Wale - 'The Gifted'

D.C. rapper and one-time Future Star Wale is still searching for his signature sound. He's using The Gifted as his playground, appropriating his best qualities and pushing himself further away from his comfort zone. Collaborators include: Nicki Minaj, 2 Chainz, Juicy J, and Lyfe Jennings.

El-P and Killer Mike make great music together. They proved this without a scintilla of doubt on R.A.P. Music< and that one song on Cancer 4 Cure.
