#1. Pharoahe Monch - Desire (Universal Motown)

On Desire, Monch's long-awaited second LP, the Queens lyricist frowns at societal ailments, such as gun violence ("When the Gun Draws") and racial stereotypes ("Hold On"). One track in particular, "Welcome to the Terror Dome," reveals Pharoahe's thoughts on a number of controversial issues. It's by far one of the most consistent hip-hop albums of 2007.
