"The Game" finds Common playing out his 8 Mile moment, as if the Chi-town MC really needs a restroom rehearsal and fist pumps to get him amped for a lyrical onslaught.
Surprisingly, scratch-supplier DJ Premier is nowhere to be found on set, but a brief consolation arrives in the form of a 2-millisecond cameo by the "The Game'"s sound architect, Kanye West. And if those vintage Premo cuts don't put you in an ol' skool revivalist mindframe, the black and white palette will do the trick.
