VH1 Hip-Hop Honors

Every year VH1 celebrates the vision, innovation and overall accomplishment of seminal hip-hop artists. There are no specific set of criteria for picking honorees, but artists who helped set trends and influenced hip hop in a powerful way are almost always included.

The show features live performances by some of the honorees along with new school artists, many of who have been influenced by the honorees. The show is usually taped at the Hammerstein Ballroom in Manhattan, New York City. It airs every October.
