Tony Cottrell in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Hi-Tek's Claim to Fame:

'Tek was the soul sonic force behind five tracks on the 1998 Rawkus Records masterpiece Mos Def and Talib Kweli are Black Star. He later produced and rapped on Train of Thought as one half of Reflection Eternal with like-minded hip-hop head Talib Kweli. However, it was 2001's Hi-Teknology LP that solidified Tek's place in the upper echelon of hip-hop beatsmithing.
