T.I., Kanye, Common, Lead Hip-Hop Nominations At 2006 MTV Video Music Awards
MTV recently announced the nominees for this year's Music Video Awards which takes place on August 31st, 2006. True to form, hip-hop was well-represented with the likes of Kanye West, Common and T.I. clinching multiple nominations. Other than the questionable inclusion of Daddy Yankee's "Rompe" in the "Best Rap Video" category, and a surprise nod for 50 Cent's "Window Shopper" as one of the year's best rap video, the nominations are fairly consistent.

- Chamillionaire - "Ridin'"

- Yung Joc - "It's Goin' Down"
- Black Eyed Peas - "My Humps"
- Common - "Testify"
