Capital STEEZ, a rising Brooklyn rapper, died on Monday morning. Steez (born Jamal Dewar) was just 19.
He was a member of Joey Bada$$' Pro Era collective and was just starting to garner some buzz, especially with the crew's recent mixtape. Joey shared the news on Twitter, saying that a part of him still doesn't believe the sad news.
"This unfortunate xmas eve," he tweeted. "Lost a best friend, a brother, a pro, a partner. Letting go is never easy."
Details of Steez's death have not been revealed but his final tweet leads some to believe he may have taken his own life. It read, simply, "The end."
