Remember Jay-Z's famous Subway ride to the Barclays Center a couple months back? Well, there was one sweet highlight from that ride that went unseen until recently. In a new documentary (courtesy of Life + Times), we see Jay explain himself to an old lady who didn't recognize him. The lady is NYC artist Ellen Grossman, and her conversation with Jay is beyond adorable.
The video immediately went viral. The Washington Post tracked down Grossman for an interview and, among other things, she says she now knows a lot more about Jay since that encounter. "I've become much more aware of what he's done and who he is," Grossman told WaPo. "And as I checked him out, I realized, how embarrassing that I didn't know who he was! There were all these photographers and a crowd of happy people around him, and security people. So it sort of dawned on me as I was looking around that he was someone famous."
