Rick Ross' God Forgives, I Don't won't arrive on its originally penciled street date of December 13th. Ross has delayed it till early 2012.
Def Jam Senior VP of Marketing Chris Atlas was vague in his explanation to Billboard, but it boils down to two things: 1) Def Jam needs Rozay to do more groundwork and promo runs before dropping the album; 2) Rozay's seizures make it harder to do said groundwork and promo runs.
Here's Atlas on why the album got pushed back. "I think we're all aware of his recent health issue, and based on some of the minor setbacks with that, we weren't able to confirm certain opportunities, because he physically wasn't able to deal with certain things at the time," says Atlas. "We want this to be his biggest album -- we know it's going to be his biggest album -- so we did not want to pressure him into releasing an album based on the sake of a date."
The album is completely devoid of buzz. "You The Boss," the Nicki Minaj-aided single from God Forgives, I Don't, is sitting pretty at No. 19 on the R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart, while the Just Blaze-laced "I Love My B--ches," holds the No. 99 spot on the chart.
