Raekwon: GZA Chose Wu-Tang over Juice Crew

A small twist of fate would have altered the lineup of one of hip-hop's greatest groups. GZA almost joined the Juice Crew but went with the Wu-Tang Clan instead. Raekwon revealed this bit of Wu history in an interview with XXLMag.com.

"Back then, they said that GZA turned down being one of the members of the Juice Crew," says Raekwon.

You have to wonder how a Juice Crew membership would have impacted GZA's solo career. He would have definitely missed out on all those timeless RZA beats. Aren't we glad that the Genius joined forces with his cousin RZA? No diss to Juice Crew but Clansman GZA sounds catchier than GZA da Juiceman.
