If imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, iconic rapper Nicki Minaj should be plenty flattered. In the 90s, a little known rapper named Lil Kim retroactively swiped Nicki's style and made it her own. Kim caught the attention of hip-hop heads by imitating Minaj's meticulously unique look and hawking suspiciously familiar themes in her music. But with the recent release of Pink Friday, the original hip-hop queen Nicki Minaj is here to reclaim her throne. Here's my take on Pink Friday.

this review was awesome, henry. although i would like to know what you really think, anyone who posts scathing reviews of anyone in young money is more than okay in my book. nicky minaj is not only trash, she is an embarrassment to femcees. it’s funny that, with jay’s decoded book and greatest hits album dropping this month, as well as kanye’s brilliant album and cudi’s solid sophomore record, minaj thought she stood a chance. heck, if gucci mane decided to do a compilation album with madonna, i’d probably listen to that over minaj.

Is this a joke? What’s going on in here?

“The greatest album since the inception of music”

Is this supposed to be serious?

(Nicki Minaj is the god of music. You just don’t know it yet. — Henry)

i’m actually pretty interested in what this album is like. i would never buy it, but would defenitely give it a listen, especially if it has good features. Eminem was great on Roman’s Revenge, plus I like some of her verses on other songs like monster.

(6) dedxsad says:

Wtf?? r u saying this is the best album ever….better than illmatic, life after death, reasonable doubt, paid in full. WTF????

(No. I’m only saying that this is the greatest album since the inception of music. You seem to have a problem with that. — Henry)

At first I thought Henry went crazy by giving a 6 out of 5 to this album.Thank god this wasn’t a real review, because it’s impossible that Nicki Minaj released an album better than Illmatic.

Sorry for being the slow one, but on a serious note was this review sarcastic or not. Because the review is listed on Nicki’s Wiki page and I am rather confused as to whether you are serious or not.

(13) GiveSomeAdvice says:

The album sucks. It’s what I call ’90’s Corporate Motivational Pop Music’.

There is not 1 dancefloor hit on this. Barely even a radio hit.

Not money well spent and sad to say it won’t do well.

(15) T says:

liiiiiiiiiiiiirrrrlllll

Wikipedia: Henry Adaso of About.com gave a rating of six stars out of five, calling it “the greatest album since the inception of music”. He glowingly complimented Minaj on her overall writing and rhyming abilities, particularly on “Right Thru Me” and felt she was superior to rap rival Lil’ Kim.

This is ridiculous. Which dumb person posted that. And who would actually believe this review? ^^

He did rate this album foreals guys. You know where Henry usually grants an album review its stars? Well you all see that this album gets “negative zero” stars, as even the outline of the stars she didnt get arent even there. HURT.

i guess its a little funny.. but instead of hating on an artist we all dont care about can we please move on and get back to real hip-hop. It’s sad that this post gets this many comments. COMMENT ON THE REAL POSTS TOO!

(20) The Red Guy says:

This album in a nutshell. Should be renamed ‘The Worst of Both Worlds’. It’s the most horrible auto-tuned toneless singing over garbage tracks. Plus, plus is has the most maddenly mediocre rhymes I’ve ever heard on a major label Debut cd by an Artist. The only thing more laugh out loud pathetic than the tracks on this garbage are the people who will stan so hard for her. Lying to themselves and everyone else saying it’s good just because they like Nicki personally. Sucky pop songs and sucky hip hop songs had a baby called ‘Pink Friday’.

This album is complete trash. Not sure what the hype is about her cause she is not that good. hope they dont spin her wack songs 1000 times on the radio to force people to cave in and like the stuff. Thats how they do nowadays. Her ryms are preschool curriculum and her fans are completely oblivious..
