I hope you're ready for an exciting holiday season, because this month's release schedule is sizzling with some highly anticipated hip-hop albums. Will Timbaland end his streak of disappointing beats on Shock Value II? Will Wale's Attention Deficit live up to the hype? Will Rakim's Seventh Seal make a late run for Album of the Year? B-boys and b-girls, I give you November's Top 10 New Rap Albums.

Don’t think 50 deserves that spot. But you probably put him there because he’s 50 Cent

Two things about this list.
1. Why is Rakim not in the #1 spot?
2.Didn’t Forbes announce that Jay-Z took back is #1 richest spot this year (http://rap.about.com/b/2009/07/09/jay-z-tops-forbes-2009-richest-rappers-list.htm)

Just listend 2 those 2 fifty tracks and i have 2 say Henry, r u dumb? Ive been visiting this website for years and never before would i have thought u wud endorse such rubbish! Anyone would sound good over those beats, 50s lyrics still the same old stuff for fourteen year olds, how could you have this album at number one ahead of Rakim!?

I don’t think he’s endorsing 50 cent at all. If you read most of the 50 related articles and their comments I think you would find that Henry doesn’t think highly of him as an MC.

I think he put 50’s album at #1 purely because if this CD is poor, 50 will lose all of his credibility as an MC.

Gasp. Finally somebody that understands this list, Thank you Mitch. Henry’s not endorsing 50, he’s just saying that its likely to be the most waited-for album of the month.

Listened to a leak of the Masta Ace and Edo G album. Cop it! Its good

‘After a few spins, it sounds like the old 50 Cent is back. A desperate attempt to regain some credibility, perhaps, but it sure sounds good’
I’m pretty sure thats some sort of endorsement for the album, and besides everyone can be entitled to their own opinion, its just I never thought Henry would think such trash was worth listening to, if its this websites most ‘anticipated’ hip hop album of the month ahead of Rakims album then maybe some people should recognise what real hip-hop is. Regardless of whether its a 50 cent album or not, putting him at number one is giving him the recognition he clearly doesnt deserve

But… 50 Cent is more relevant than Rakim. That may not be a good thing, but Rakim hasn’t put out a CD in years. His old fans will want to look out for it, but those who are more concerned with hip-hop now, and probably a lot of younger fans, will look at 50’s album, especially after the poor quality of the last two, his control of the internet, mixtapes and threatening words at other rappers. He’s an attention grabber, and people want to see the outcome of it all, and it’s right for him to be 1st, even though Rakim’s album is sure to be better.
Henry isn’t dumb at all, most people agree that the album is a big improvement from 50. It’s your opinion that it’s trash.

I completely understand your view, and you can call my opinion trash all you want, and this is the first time I have considered henrys opinion to be dumb. Perhaps this was a harsh criticism, however, making 50 cent number one in the most anticipated albums of the month doesnt justify the art of hip hop itself, was it really that hard for 50 to make an improvement on previous albums?
He may be more relevant than Rakim but after the years of visiting this website Henry has hardly focused much of his attention on the commercial side of the music. In fact I must say that his website stands out amongst many others for staying true to the origins of hip hop, however this 50 cent stuff hit a nerve.
Here in the UK 50 cent has helped American hiphop become nothing short of a mockery to the general public here (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8rxAtyQsdeA) The UK hip hop scence is alot more fresh and vibrant than anything coming out of America at the moment bar a few (Nas, The Roots, Raekwon etc.)
I had a discussion with another American recently over the state of hip-hop and he dismissed British rappers as a joke and being corny, but anyone who checks this website and especially Henry should check Jehst-Move Back, Klashnekoff-Parrowdice, and Foreign Beggars-Hold on, and then tell me that the raw and intelligent lyrics arent coming from the UK!
