LL Cool J Nominated for 2010 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame
Hip-hop's king of longevity LL Cool J is on the shortlist of artists being considered for the 2010 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. The 25th annual Rock Hall induction ceremony is slated to take place March 15 at the Waldorf Astoria in New York City.
To be eligible, an act must have released its first single or album at least 25 years prior to the year of nomination. This year’s nominees had to release their first single no later than 1984. It's LL's first year of eligibility and he'll need plenty of luck to make the final cut.
Other nominees include: Red Hot Chili Peppers, Kiss and Genesis, The Stooges, Donna Summer, ABBA, Darlene Love, Laura Nyro, the Chantels, The Hollies and Jimmy Cliff.
Grandmaster Flash & The Furious 5 and Run-DMC were the first two hip-hop acts to be inducted into the Rock Hall in 2007 and 2009 respectively.
