Don’t want to be greedy, but I would love a review of The Ecstatic when it drops.
(Your greed is my command. Ecstatic review coming right up. — Henry)
At this point, can the Black Eyed Peas even be considered a ‘hip-hop’ group?
I agree, I don’t think the BEPs can be classified as hip-hop/rap anymore. Anyways, great list thanks!
(Can we at least agree that they’re hip-pop? — Henry)
i am really upset about this list, Henry. You do a great job on this site and I know you said you weren’t excited about the Damian Marley/Nas album, but to put the black eyed peas on the list and not a Nas album? Nas is one of the greatest ever, and almost everything he blesses with his voice turns to gold. BEPs aren’t even rap, they’re pop. And yes, it’d be cool to see a review of the Mos Def album, which probably won’t even be as good as the Nas one.
(Calm down, the Nas/Damian Marley project has no set date. — Henry)
0h, and you also left out the Charles Hamilton album that drops June 23rd.
hi somebody knows if The Ecstatic is already released now?
i looked at (german) amazon and it says june 26 and iTunes doesnt have it either?
listenin 2 mos def’s new album right now, and let me just say it’s not a classic, but it close 2 being one. This album lived up to the hype. Great list Henry, don’t know if Nas album is ocomming out in June but if it is, I agree that it should have been on the list, same thing 4 charles hamilton. BEPs do not count as hip-hop
Hey, nice list, would have liked to see AZ higher than Fab but that’s just me. The real reason for this comment is just to ask you if you have listened to ‘Legendary’ and what thought about it? I don’t know if you are planning to release a formal review or anything.
Personally I thought it had a few decent songs but you could tell that a few of the “tracks” were just filler. The album had only 14 tracks to begin with but you could really only say that about 9-10 of them are songs which kind of left me a bit disapointed.
(Thanks, Mitch. I’m with you on that AZ album. It’s forgettable. — Henry)
