Rapper Gets 20 Years for Rapping About Shooting

Thursday November 20, 2008
An upcoming Atlanta rapper shot a man twice, felt good about it, and was stupid enough to rap about the shooting in a song. "Ask Chad Blue, he knows how I shoot," rapped 25-year old Rico Todriquez Wright after shooting Chad Blue in the thigh and groin. According to Yahoo News, a judge sentenced Wright to 20 years behind bars for two counts of aggravated assault. He will also spend another 20 years on probation. This story reminds me of an episode of The Dave Chappelle Show: When Keeping It Real Goes Wrong.

Wow! This has to be a first for me hearing something like this, but he had the audacity to drop their name in song. But, there are a lot of rappers that have made the claim of shooting and killing someone, but are really the complete opposite and false. It’s a shame.

“So you wanna be hardcore
With your hat to the back, talkin bout the gats in your raps
But I can’t feel that hardcore appeal
that you’re screamin, baby I’m dreamin” Machine Gun Funk
