Run DMC could become just the 2nd hip-hop group, behind Grandmaster Flash & The Furious Five, to be inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. The legendary rap crew is among the 9 nominees being considered for induction at next year's Rock Hall ceremony.
Other nominees include:- Jeff Beck
- Chic
- Wanda Jackson
- War
- Little Anthony and the Imperials
- Bobby Womack
- Metallica
- The Stooges
Run DMC consists of Rev Run (Joseph Simmons), DMC (Daryl McDaniels), and Jam-Master Jay (Jason Mizell). JMJ was fatally shot on October 30, 2002. As a pioneering hip-hop group, Run DMC left an indelible mark on hip-hop in the 1980s with such hits as "Walk This Way" and "Down with the King." And who can forget the monstrous "My Adidas"?
To be nominated, an act must have released its first record 25 years prior. Next year's enshrinement ceremony will be held on April 4th in Cleveland, home of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum.

CONGRATULATIONS RUN DMC!!!
Yeah! Run-DMC!! The true kings of rock.
If it had not been for Run DMC, Aerosmith probably wouldn’t have had the spring back into the Limelight. They put Aerosmith back on the map with “Walk this Way”. You’d best believe that!!!!
Run DMC being nominated for induction into the Rock n’ Roll Hall of Fame is a banner moment for hip hop music. They are the true godfathers who brought this genre of music into the mainstream and legitimized this musical format in the eyes of the masses. Much like Grandmaster Flash did in 2002, Run DMC will surely pave the way for more hip hop artists to be recognized by this great institution. http://www.streetology1.com
