2Pac's 22 Greatest Performances

By , About.com GuideSeptember 19, 2008

Follow me on:

Before his death in September 1996, Tupac Shakur gave the world hundreds of songs -- some great, some listless. So, narrowing this list to 22 turned out to be such a hefty task. 2Pac managed to touch on every subject, be it good or evil, joy or sorrow, racism or tolerance. If it was worth discussing, 'Pac had it covered. In fact, I dare say that if he was alive today, he would have ran out of things to rhyme about. As a tribute to one of hip-hop's greatest minds, we present to you 2Pac's 22 best songs of all time.

The Top 3 songs listed: Brenda’s Got a Baby, Dear Mama, and Keep Ya Head Up; you don’t hear songs with topics like those (except Ludacris’ “Runaway Love”) released and played on the mainstream radio and video channels. Tupac’s topics were broad and diverse, unlike a lot of rappers today.

Okay…I been waitin to C if any1 would respond honestly & they haven’t. The 22 so called songs are suspect. There are allot of 2pac’s songs that were left off. Here are a few in my opinion should have been on the list. I believe the whole 1st album should be on the list.

Soulja’s Story
Violent
If I Die 2Night
Me And My Girlfriend
How Long Will They Mourn Me?
Under Pressure
Bury Me A G
I Ain’t Mad At Cha

2pac & Biggie…Biggie & 2pac however you slice it BOTH were the best EVER!!! Thanks allot you A**Holes who took them from us. I hope you burn in H*LL. Suge Knight & P.Diddy its your fault that both are gone. You are just as guilty as the men holding the smoking guns.
