Da Brat Sentenced to 3 Years in Prison

Foxy Brown, Lil Kim, Remy Ma. You can now add Da Brat to the growing list of female rappers who just can't stay away from trouble. Da Brat was sentenced to 3 years in prison yesterday, following an aggravated assault charge in Dekalb County.

Da Brat (real name Shawntae Harris) caught the charge for hitting a hostess in the head with a rum bottle during an altercation at an Atlanta club last year. Brat's victim supposedly sustained a deep cut on her cheek, which left a permanent scar on her face as a result. The rapper pleaded guilty to aggravated assault and was sentenced to 3 years behind bars and seven on probation.

In addition to spending the next 3 years in the can, Da Brat will also put in 200 hours of community service and complete a substance abuse treatment, mental evaluation and anger management classes.
