BET has a separate Award ceremony for hip-hop, so you may not see me covering the main thing here. (For that, you can always turn to our reliable R&B Guide, Mark.) That said, there's still a small allocation for hip-hoppers at the main BET Awards and I'm sure you're interested in knowing about the winners. The way I see it, the Viewer’s Choice Award was either going to go to Soulja Boy’s Crank That or Lil Wayne’s Lollipop and I am so glad it went to the latter.
I was just glad Soulja Boy didn’t win newcomer of the year. I’m glad they recognized that he’s a one hit wonder (he’s another J-Kwon, and all he’s done since his 15 minutes is make a porno, lol). The Dream was an excellent choice, though I thought Flo Rida might win it because of Low and Elevator.
