Father's Day Hip-Hop Playlist

Sunday June 15, 2008
Here's a bitter pill for all the dads out there, hip-hop is far less kind to poppas than mommas. I've been searching and scraping for the fatherhood equivalent of these Mother's Day songs to no avail. (If you know of any, please hit me up.) In the meantime, enjoy these 8 poignant father-to-child hip-hop tunes. Happy Father's Day.

What about Atmosphere’s “Yesterday” from “When Live Gives You Lemons…” ???

Granted it’s about his father who passed away, but it’s still a great song to listen to about sons remembering their fathers.

We must not forget “The Foundation” by Xzibit. Fatherly advise delivered elegantly over a melancholic Muggs beat.
