Review: T.I. - "No Matter What"

Friday May 2, 2008

Trouble brings out the best in just about any good artist. Just ask Eminem. With his latest song from Paper Trail, T.I. stands tall and shows strength in the face of adversity. But does that sentimental approach help or hurt the song? Check out my review on T.I.'s "No Matter What" and decide for yourself.

I’m really feeling this. Smooth groove and flow. This is a song by which a lot of people can relate to, when they’re “down in the trenches.” T.I. puts his all in it & has certainly distinguished himself from all the other “rap-uh-likes” and “sound-uh-likes” on the mainstream radio.

(7) V says:

It’s real good. There are similarities between this beat and some of his others, but they’re still very different enough IMO, and not close to repetitive. Lyrically, this is one of his best songs in years…lets hope the rest of his album lives up to this precedent.

(8) Cathal says:

the beat weak as hell and lyrics are possibly worse…did a 8 year old write d lyrics?

maybe the lyrics aren’t good but so what? you can feel his emotion in this song, and the lyrics are OK, they ain’t that bad, this is a really good song, not great or anything, but good.

(11) DJ Expanium says:

Cathal….an 8 yr. old can write those lyrics….so is Soulja Boy a better writer than him….LOL?!????!??!

(12) Gill says:

the lyrics are great, they beat is alright but somehow t.i.’s flow with the beat makes the beat ten times better then it actually is. can feel the passion on this song, i hope this is a reflection of the album

(13) mst.i.p. says:

whoever said this song was weak…y’all have absolutely no idea what your talking about. Like someone earlier mentioned..you can feel the emotion in his voice….its funny how when an artist comes out w/ a song, it becomes the &*^% because it contains all types of curse words…but when a rapper has a positive song…people want to criticize and mention how “weak” the song is…Can we please grow up and learn to appreciate good music???

(14) angel says:

ya you guys are messed up saying this song is bad…its a real good song that actually comes from a rappers heart. he dnt care wat other rappers gota say bout him when hes down…he says wat hes gota say and thats good enough.

(18) Deshawn says:

this beat is real. “what you know” better than this? that’s a dope beet, but sound cheesy next to this. like the producer turned on a keyboard for the first time and played some chords. this is the real sh*t.i’m listening to it over and over cuz i just can get enough.

(20) Nami says:

Ya kno, im black, and i seriously hate rap, so i don’t even watch BET. But every once in a while i’ll be scannin’ and ill stop and watch a video on BET to see wtf it’s about. This video happened to be on, and i was shocked. I mean the lyrics where actually meaningful, and had a point. And i think this song is awesome. =o It’s nice to see an actual poet in rap. I mean hate on eminem all u want, trust me, i think hes kinda fake now too, but he was one hell of a poet. And thats really what rap is about. But thats been lost now a days, -_-

Best song on the album. kind of song that leaves lasting impression on the mind. T.I is definitely one of the best out there and this song simply confirms that.
