CD Review: Snoop Dogg - Ego Trippin'
Tuesday March 11, 2008
One-dimensional artists don't last in hip-hop. So, it's no surprise that Snoop finally decided to reinvent his image after sixteen years in the game. Ego Trippin' features many variations of Snoop's personality, from Retro Snoop to Singing Snoop. But is it really just the same ol' Snoop? See our Ego Trippin' review to find out.

aww c’mon, henry. i just read a rolling stone review that was on snoop’s nuts, and now i have to hear shannon (no disrespect) liking him too? snoop is sooooooo overrated. henry, what are your thoughts on the album? also, i’m gonna keep asking… any info on Saigon? i can’t stop playing “my favorite things”
I thought Shannon’s review was on point. I liked most of the album, but it really needed some trimming. Lots of filler.
And nope, I haven’t heard anything about Saigon’s album.
James: Shannon gave the album 3 stars, which, by most standards, isn’t very favorable at all. It was an average album with plenty to choose from (20+ tracks nowadays is usually out of the question). Definitely not as as “complete” as The Blue Carpet Treatment, but entertaining nonetheless.
Nice review, Shannon!
Im a big snoop fan, he’s one of my favorite artist’s, blue carpet treatment was one of my favorites of 06.. with that being said the album was weak, with the exception of “never have 2 worry” no track had a hard beat or that snoop og flow. I guess I just like the hood snoop over the father hood snoop. too pop for my taste..
He’s still got at least one more great album in him
I’ve been saying it all along. Snoop should maintain his artistic integrity and do whatever he truly wants to do. But if that means I’ll have to listen to a more pop-sounding Snoop and not that funky Snoop, I’m just not going to listen to him. I knew what route he was taking when he sounded like T-Pain on Sensual Seduction, which I didn’t like at all.
