CD Review: Nicolay & Kay - Time:Line

Monday March 10, 2008

In 2004, Dutch producer Nicolay teamed up with North Carolina's Phonte (of Little Brother fame) under the alias Foreign Exchange. Thanks to technological advancements, the two managed to string together enough songs for a decent album without meeting face-to-face. The resulting LP, Connected, marked a defining moment in virtual collaboration. Fast forward to 2008. Nicolay, now living in the U.S., is back with yet another collaborative effort. This time he joins forces with Houston rapper Kay (of The Foundation). I'll give it to you straight: If you liked Connected, then you'll probably like Time:Line. Consult my Time:Line review to see if this album is for you.

A lot of hoopla about this one, so I checked it out… Pretty good, but nothing spectacular in my book…
