Hot 97 and Lil Mama Urge Kids to Stay in School

Thursday October 4, 2007

Lil Mama, who gained popularity with the high school anthem "Lip Gloss," has a straightforward message for her fellow youth: Stay in school. Lil Mama is one of the entertainers tapped by Hot 97 FM and the Entertainers 4 Education Alliance to perform at the 2nd annual Stay in School concert. In addition to Lil Mama, Juelz Santana, Jim Jones, Papoose, and Red Café will also perform at the event.

Entertainment 4 Education Alliance is a non-profit organization committed to empowering youth by promoting education and positive decision making. They utilize the resources of the entertainment community to provide support and encouraging messages to young people. The Stay in School concert is set for October 17 at New York's Hammerstein Ballroom.

Well if she urges kids to stay in school, i urge her to stop making music, or in other words…stop having other people make her music

“voice of the young people”
-i couldnt pick anyone better to represent me……. it’s like you give her a mic and she starts talkin about her lip gloss

next song is entitled “nail polish”
it goes like this.. my nail polish is pink, all the guys think i stink, nobody takes me serious, the reason why i suck isnt mysterious

She may not be considered a hardcore MC, but she has skills and it’s about time a young woman had lyrics without profanity or strong sexual content. I applaud her efforts the ‘Stay in School’ campaign. Lil’ Mama is a positive youth role model.

Lip gloss is a horrible song… Lil Mama actually has promise, but she has to stop making childish songs, well childish songs wouldn’t be THAT bad if she had good lyrics, but she makes songs for 10 year old girls… and what about that rock song collabo… not good, but yeah i agree, she doesn’t use profanity in her lyrics and is “urging” girls to stay in school, so yeah she is a good role model, just not a god femcee, lol
