He's the hip-hop equivalent of Martin Luther King Jr. A socially-aware lyricist. Simply put, Common is an emcee's emcee. Let's get familiar with the crochet pants advocate known to the world as Common.

I don’t agree he is the eguivalent of Martin Luther King Jr but, he is an emcee’s emcee. Can’t wait for his new album, I hope it has songs that r longer than the BE album.
If not Common, then who?
“Your answer”
Nobody.
What happened to 2Pac???
he cool but, he definitely ain’t no Mart…King Jr,He seem to be losing the orgy flow of hip hop. can’t wait 2 hear his next album. i pray it helps to save hip hop. Cos like NAS said i fear to agree too that Hip Hop is dead. For the ghetto seem to have no place in it anymore,.. after pac who’s next?
I wouldn’t call him the “hip-hop equivalent to Martin Luther King Jr.,” nor would I call him a “crochet pants advocate,” but he is definitely a great leader of the True School. He gave an excellent performance in Atlanta last with night with Q-Tip. They brought us back to why we love hip-hop in the first place. Their freestyles were sick, song choices were great and just the sound of Common’s voice is legendary.
A COMMON IS DA MAN HE DESERVES TO BE IN THE BOOKS!
