Graduation Blows Curtis Out of the Water

We all knew that Kanye West would emerge victorious in his chart race with 50 Cent, but I expected it to be a close call. Boy, was I wrong or what? According to Billboard, Graduation scanned a whopping 957,000 copies to clinch the No.1 spot on the chart. Curtis, on the other hand, underperformed with 691,000 units. I only say "underperformed" because 50's last album, The Massacre, sold 1.1 million units in just four days. In fact, Graduation registered the biggest first week showing since The Massacre.
Graduation also impressed in the Digital Downloads department with 133,000 downloads. Unfortunately for 50, only 58,000 people downloaded Curtis.
Will 50 Cent retire after the loss?

its all a publicity stunt. 50 has a 5 album deal. this is his third album, his 4th is already done and might drop this year. his 5th album is a greatest hits album. so hes already thinkin of leavin an just writing for his other artists. hes been thinkin that for a while so its not becuase of kanye if he retires.

the Universal group basically owns both def jam and interscope… this was obviously a publicity stunt to fuel sells of both album… I guarantee you if this didn’t happen, Kanye would’ve prolly sold around 600,000 at the most first week
