Foxy Brown Arrested on Felony Assault

What is it with celebrities and cell phone smackdown? Foxy Brown has been charged with felony assault after allegedly striking a 25-year old neighbor with her Blackberry during an argument. The victim was left with swollen lips and eyes, and had to be hospitalized.

According to TMZ.com, the 27-year-old rapper turned herself in to NYPD yesterday afternoon. She was arraigned yesterday and released on a $5,000 bail. Brown, who is on probation for other battery and assault charges, is expected back in court on September 26.

On a related note, Foxy has officially severed ties with Def Jam Records to start her own independent label. Her new label, Black Rose Entertainment, will be distributed via Koch.
