T.I. Strikes Gold with T.I. vs. T.I.P.
Early sales reports indicate that T.I. vs. T.I.P. docked on this week's charts in grand style. According to hitsdailydouble.com, T.I.'s fifth full-length debuted at #1 with a strong 466,000 units. That's more than enough to dethrone last week’s chart-topper, Disney’s Hannah Montana 2: Meet Miley soundtrack, which reeled in an impressive 187,000 scans. It also marks the best first-week sales for a rap album since Jay-Z's Kingdom Come, which entered the Billboard 200 with 700,000.
Grand style entries are nothing new to the Grand Hustler. You may recall that T.I.'s 2006 effort, King, made a big splash on the charts by moving as many as 522,000 units in its opening week. A snappy congratulations to the Rubber Band Man!Album art © Atlantic
