Mims Slapped with $7.5 Million Discrimination Lawsuit

Monday May 28, 2007

A talent agent in New York has filed a $7.5 million lawsuit against Mims (born Shawn Mims) for failing to appear at a planned event, despite receiving $2500 in advance payment. Mims was supposed to perform for 10 minutes in exchange for $10,000. Marquitta Blair, the lady who sent the payment, alleges that Mims pulled a no-show on her event simply because she's a woman. Wait, it gets better! Blair also claims that Mims "has promoted and traded upon a pattern of conduct involving the belittlement and degradation of females as 'b*****s' and 'hoes."

I'm definitely no fan of Mr. "This Is Why I'm Hot" and his lukewarm debut, Music Is My Savior, I couldn't help cracking up at this story. It strikes me as odd that a promoter who was eager to pay $10,000 for some derogatory lyrics is now complaining about the same lyrics. Just another case of the pot calling the kettle black?
