Ghostface to Headline Brooklyn Hip-Hop Festival
Tuesday April 17, 2007
Get your wallabee shoes and eagle bracelets ready. Ghosface Killah (aka Tony Starks; aka Pretty Tony) has been tapped to headline the 2007 Brooklyn Hip-Hop Festival. The Staten Island MC will take center stage on the final day, June 23rd, of the third annual BHF produced by Brooklyn Bodega, The Room Service Group and Seven Heads Entertainment. This year's Festival will take place at Empire-Fulton Ferry State Park at the foot of the Brooklyn Bridge.
"Ghost is simply in his own category," said Festival head Wes Jackson. "His track record of hits is over 10 years long. He has rocked with everyone from Beyonce to MF Doom. Who else can say that? His versatility and borderless creativity is exactly what the BHF is all about. As we move park- wide we couldn't ask for a better MC at the top of the bill."
Ghost added his name to the handful of rappers who've managed to pull off the remarkable feat of releasing two albums in the same amount of time it takes Britney to make babies. The stellar Fishscale dropped in March 2006, while the so-so More Fish arrived nine months later.Photo © Def Jam
