CD Review: Redman - Red Gone Wild

Wednesday March 28, 2007
It's been seventeen years since EPMD introduced the world to Redman on Business As Usual via the 20-year old upstart's verses on "Hardcore" and "Brothers on My Jock." The highly-praised Whut? Thee Album followed two years later and Red soon became a lyrical stakeholder. Reggie Noble is now back to reclaim his spot among hip-hop's elites with Red Gone Wild: Thee Album. Or is he?

FINALLY!!! He’s Back.

Read a few reviews that didn’t like it, but I think its vintage Funk Doc; lyrics are still as clever as they’ve always been. Although, though some of the producers’ beats seem recycled (i.e. “Put It Down”; can you say “Headsprung by LL”? - lucky I kinda liked that beat), its still a hot album!! ONE!

Real Hip Hop no doubt is back in da house, this album better go at least gold, it’s another Redman classic (except for Malpractice)…….
