Poll: Who Will Get the Hip-Hop Vote in 2008?

Tuesday January 23, 2007
A common misconception about the hip-hop community is that it lacks the insight or ability to mobilize a political movement. Fortunately, that's a far cry from the truth. Some of the powerful political discourse today are contained in hip-hop music. Hip-hop has always been involved: rap music echoes the struggles of a marginalized generation while raptivism highlights social injustice.

As we gear up for the next Presidential election, let's take some time to find out who's likely to clinch the hip-hop ticket in 2008. Who would you vote for if the elections were held today?

(4) The Truth says:

Real hip-hop wouldn’t vote for any of these fools. Until we get out of this 2-party(both ran by big business)system we have no voice. What’s the use they’ll just pick who they want to be president regardless of the voting turnout!! remember 2000 election?

Um, I don’t think it’s a misconception at all. What evidence do you have to say the “hip-hop community” can mobilize a political movement? Vote or Die? If you pay taxes you should elect as few democrats as possible, but you won’t because they get you juiced up on the race (”social justice”) issue.

NUMBER 6:

You are an f—-ing idiot. Barrack Obama is NOT a muslim hes a Christian, his father was a non-practicing muslim.

Even if he was not voting for him cause of Islam would be ignorant.

I support Obama even though it looks lik e It’ll be Clinton, shes capable, and a Clinton/Obama ticket would be balanced nicely.

Powell won’t run btw.

(9) Dre says:

I hate when cats like that “E” character above concentrate on the one thing republicans do which is slightly lower taxes. And the only reason they do it is so themselves and their RICH counterparts won’t have to pay so much money in taxes. The not so well off individuals in america pretty much pay the same taxes they’ve been paying. When Clinton was in Office the U.S. had a surplus. Taxes may have been a little higher but the economy was great and we didn’t have the defecit we have now. Think about it doggy… I thik Obama or Clinton would make great presidents but don’t know if it would ever happen (black or a woman).
