Evel Knievel Sues Evel Kanyeevel Over Music Video

Wednesday December 13, 2006
It looks like Evel Knievel is not feeling Kanye West's re-enactment of his great jump in the "Touch the Sky" video. Knievel, 68, claims the video infringes copyright and tarnishes his image by its "vulgar, sexual" nature. "That video that Kanye West put out is the most worthless piece of crap I've ever seen in my life, and he uses my image to catapult himself on the public," said Knievel. "The guy just went too far using me to promote his filth to the world," said Knievel. "What a cheap shot. What a cheap, two-bit shot," he added.

Last month, Kanye threw a tantrum on stage after "Touch the Sky" failed to win 'Best Music Video' at the European MTV Awards. "F**k this! My video cost a million dollars," West said at the event. "Pamela Anderson was in it, I was jumping across canyons and s**t! If I don't win, the awards show loses credibility."

Well, it's only a matter of time before Kanye takes a break from recording AF-1 tributes and drops a dis track dubbed "Evil Knievel Does Not Care About Black People." We'll keep you posted on that.

We know you'd like to watch the "Touch the Sky" video right about now, so head on over to YouTube for the clip. Image © Def Jam

Evel shoulda just said he didnt want a black guy representing him because from watching the video, I see no vulgar, sexual nature. Keneval showed his true colors here in that he is afraid of the Hip Hop culture.

(3) Nero says:

I call bullcrap. During his career, Evel K. was arrested for soliciting a prostitute, was arrested for domestic disturbance, pled guilty to battery charges and was nabbed by the IRS for not paying over a million dollars in taxes. So that statement about his image being “tarnished” by Kanye is garbage. MF a damn Evel Knievel.

The video has been out for sometime. If it had really offended him he wouldve done something about it sooner. He wants some cake.

Regardless of what Evel may or may not think of hip hop culture, that is not the point. The Evel Keneval name and likeness are trademarked. You can bet that if Evel put out a self promoting commercial (which is what MV’s are…) using Kayne’s name & likeness, he would find himself on the other end of a lawsuit.

(8) Knievel-fan-1 says:

Mr. Knievel is a hero to all, during the vietnam war, he was their heroes, the kids of that time looked up to him. He was just a common joe who grew up poorly. If one of you one day recieve a million dollars and become a celebrity it would be hard on you too. So leave him alone.

I wouldn’t pi$s on Mr. West if he was on fire. I would however schidt on his grave. He’s a worthless piece of crap. Anybody stooopid enough to purchase or even listen to that no-talent BS they call “hip-hop” is an idiot.
