The Game Denies Impersonating a Police Officer

Monday November 20, 2006
Compton rapper The Game (real name Jayceon Taylor) has opened up on his arrest in New York last Thursday (November 16), when he was cuffed for allegedly impersonating a police officer. Game's lawyer, Jeffrey Lichtman, shot down the impersonation accusation, claiming that the police had been tailing his client throughout his stay in New York and that the cabbie was an erratic driver.
"This is really a new low even for the NYPD," Lichtman said. "It's a big joke to harass him and other members of the hip-hop community, and ultimately arresting him. Let's see how funny they think it is during the cross-examinations of this trial."
Following an appearance on "The Late Show with David Letterman," The Game, 26, was reportedly flagged down a cab and ordered the driver to race through several traffic lights. When police officers stopped the cab for driving erratically at 43rd Street and 6th Avenue, he told them that there was an undercover police officer in the back seat.

The Game is slated to appear in court on December 12.
