August 2006 Artist of the Month: OutKast

Even if they somehow manage to end their career on a bad note--as the terminal track on Idlewild--suggests, OutKast will still go down as the most consistent duo in hip-hop history. Their decade-long catalog will always serve as a reminder that before the crunking and snapping, there was OutKast. Without leanin' on stereotypes or rockin' with trends, the ever-evolving André 3000 and Big Boi helped catapult southern rap to illogical heights. In the last one month alone, they've already unleashed three solid singles, which includes, a pair of music videos designed to pave the path for their much-delayed movie, "Idlewild."

Without further ado, I present to you August 2006 Artist of the Month: OutKast.
