J Dilla Gets His 'Shine' On

J Dilla managed to complete 90% of his sopohomore solo LP The Shining before succumbing to lupus-related complications on February 10,2006. With the blessing of Jay Dee's mom Maureen Yancey, his longtime associate Karriem Riggins was on hand to add finishing touches to the much-anticipated The Shining, billed for an August 22nd release date. Guest features include Busta Rhymes, Black Thought, Dwele, D'Angelo and Common. Preview The Shining now, and keep it locked right here for a full review sometime soon.

RIP Dilla
The Busta intro annoyed me and “e=MC2″ was on some “Electric Circus” isht. The rest of the record is pretty strong if not spectacular. Would you say that’s a fair take?

I’m still waiting on my press copy. But Busta’s intros are generally annoying (cf:Missy’s first album).
