Review: The Coup's Pick A Bigger Weapon
Wednesday May 24, 2006
Oakland-based crew, The Coup, survived what's possibly the most tragic coincidence in the history of hip-hop when their album art for 2001's Party Music somehow envisaged the deadly events of 9/11. Pam and Boots Riley are now back with their combo of deviously dark humor and politically charged rhymes on Pick A Bigger Weapon. With their critically acclaimed debut, Genocide and Juice going for $100 on Amazon, it's probably a good idea to check out the review for Pick A Bigger Weapon while it's still free.

This joint is easily one of my five favorites so far this year, along with Fishscale, Bronze Nazareth, Lupe, and Donuts.
Joey-
Lupe’s sh*t is leaked right? I heard it was incomplete so i was waiting for release to cop it
I would imagine that what has leaked is not the final version, but the sh*t I’ve heard sounds a lot like an album.
Great review, Henry. Boots and Pam are WAY too slept-on; thanks for showin’ them some love.
the best damn review i’ve read of that album. nice to see someone’s showing the coup some love and all.
Nero, you right. the coup is slept on a lot.
nice review, dope azz album although i liked that “a.. breath kisser” song
nice review.
Genocide and Coup was ill too
Why don’t the rappers go to Http://www.roi-calc.com/Rap.html
For about $50 they can get access to a promotional and distribution channel. Then their music can be available and featured at an online music store!
Then people like me can pay them and download their stuff. You can’t tell me that they haven’t burned a couple of raps on an f-ing CD. Geesh!
